Upcoming Events

Thanks to all who attended the most recent Art Party in April at the 25 Bryant Project in Highlands. Approximately 200 people toured the incredible townhomes and enjoyed the works of four of Denver's premier contemporary artists. Art Parties are a great way to meet cool new people, mingle with the artists, and enjoy the latest works from their collections.

Watch this section for news of upcoming Art Parties and be sure to sign up to receive email invitations in the Contact section of the Jordan Art Partner website.

Artist of the Month

My featured Artist of the Month is Jared Steinberg. I met Jared about four years ago through a mutual friend. We got to talking about art and I went by his studio to see his work and loved it. Jared sometimes describes his style as "Modern Impressionism". He works in both acrylic and oil and the colors are unbelievable - very vibrant and engaging. The most intriguing thing to me is the story his paintings tell. Many of his works contain two or three different scenes, leaving the viewer wondering about who the characters are to each other. When I ask Jared what he was thinking when he created the painting, he will say, "What are you thinking when you see it?" He loves to hear my interpretation. Sometimes it matches his and sometimes it doesn't, but he loves to discuss it and always has a sly grin when I "get it." Jared is very modest, but I can tell you he is shaking up the Denver art scene with his work. He was featured in 5280 for his "Slices of Denver" collection. Jared just called to tell me he is working on some new things and can't wait for me to see them. I am lucky to call him my friend and art associate. Cool guy, cool paintings. Check out his gallery page on this website and contact me if you want to set up a studio visit to meet Jared and see more of his work.

Work of the Month

The Work of the Month I have selected is a small painting titled, "Pear" by watercolorist Jean Brodie. Check it out in Jean's gallery section of this website. It is a small but powerful painting. Approximately six inches square, it has the impact of a much larger work. The colors are incredible and the balance and composition are remarkable for such a small canvas. I would love to own this painting myself. Jean Brodie is one of my favorite people. I met her through her husband Mark who is also an artist. Jean is a smart, witty and interesting woman who has made a significant contribution to art through her teaching career and is now treating the art community to her own works. Jean is a great artist and a great person. To see more of Jean's collection, contact me to arrange a studio visit.

Art Around Denver

First Fridays

By now most of you know about Denver's great First Friday art walks. Every gallery district now features events on the first Friday of every month. The RiNo and Santa Fe walks are the most popular with a record 5,000 people attending a recent RiNo FF. I was in New York recently and met some people at the MOMA. When they learned I was from Denver, they said, "Oh, Denver has great First Friday art walks around town, right?". We're famous! Check out the next FF; hit them all or pick one district per month and linger.

We All Love Freebies

Don't forget that the Denver Art Museum hosts a free day for the community the first Saturday of each month. Free tickets are limited so get there by 8:30 to get your passes for the opening at 9:30. We are lucky to have such a premier museum in our city. Take advantage of the free day to take a friend who isn't into art. You may convert them.
